Many debt settlement companies don’t have the ability to negotiate your debt. I’ll give you one solid example. If you’re being sued by The LCF Group, they will not communicate directly with any debt settlement company, in part because of the abundance of scams that exist out there. That’s not to say The LCF Group is bad, in fact, while I don’t always agree with them, they’re a reputable company and I’ve worked out many deals with their professional team.
They only communicate with lawyers.
So what does that mean for you? It means the following:
- you want to make sure the lawyer representing you has experience working with the company or the law firm that is suing you.
- you want to know who your attorney is, their reputation, and their strategy in advising you through your lawsuit.
If you don’t have the ability to communicate with the attorney working with the debt settlement company from the very start, (BEFORE you hire the debt settlement company), then you should not proceed.
Know the people involved in giving you advice. Understand their credentials, their success rate, their add value. Otherwise, don’t waste your money.
